I just wanted to say that I have been here twice and each time that
I have came here I have only gotten the best out of
each artist that I have seen. Jason Coquel did my cover up on my
chest piece and he did a amazing job. He is very very good with color
and his style is incredible you can tell that this is his passion.
My second time that I went I got to get my first and my most fav
tattoo done by the wonderful Johnny Jackson, he is the owner of the
shop...he did a amazing piece on my right upper thigh in about 5 hours
with breaks. He was very much into his work , but at the same time he
was also very much making sure that I was okay and if we needed a
break here or there. The best customer care a person can ask for.
This place is clean, there is no fake artist here they are all
award winning and I am looking forward to coming back. The atmosphere
there welcomes you and the way the place is decorated is amazing!! If
you are looking to get a tattoo this place is it!! There is no other
place that will match this place in my opinion and I have been to
other tattoo shops I just wish I knew about this place before hand but
I was young. I will never go back the only place I will get my tattoos
at for now on is from Texas Body Arts!

I recently had a tattoo done by David Grey. To
say the least, he did an awesome job. I had him expand (to say the
least) on a star tattoo I already had on my arm. I was a little
skeptical because had only a few ideas on what I wanted to do with it,
but David certainly showed his creativity and produced a piece of art
that I am very proud of. I will definitely be coming back to see him
for some more! Also, everyone in the shop was very personable and
made the overall 10 hour experience a pleasant one.

I visited a friend in Houston and thought this would be a great
opportunity to find a shop and start on that half-sleeve I always
wanted.
Looked them up online and the drove over too make an appointment.
Thought it was funny and coincidental that the first person I talk to in
the shop( David Gray), was the best in the the style I wanted ( Black &
Gray). I gave him my ideas, visions and pictures from my usb-stick and
we talked about the tattoo and how it should be. When I came back and
saw the sketch I had no doubt in my mind that this was what I wanted.
Me and David got along great and time went by fast. After a few hours
with tattooing and short breaks we ordered pizza with some of the other
guys at the shop. Halfway through the session we both agreed that we
would do the whole sleeve in one session. It took 13 hours of tattooing
and it was totally worth the pain. After we got done I got the first
draft of the sketch as a gift,signed by David Gray.
The environment there was good and I felt comfortable and relaxed
even though this was my first tattoo and a rather large tattoo at that.
I recommend this shop to the fullest and I will definitely be back to
get the rest of my sleeve done!
I went in to get a touch up on an old tattoo..Gabriel made some
recommendations and we ended up covering up the old tattoo with AMAZING
artwork...cant see the old tattoo at all and the new one is beautiful!

What can i say ?.I was referred to jason by my friend and I'm glad I
listened to her! He fixed my tattoo on my left arm he made it more colorful
prettier,etc. We started talking about how I wanted a sleeve I basicly told
him what I wanted and he just started saying some badass ideas!!! He came up
with the colors and placement I trust him and outcome was
BEAUTIFULLLLL,BADASS,AWESOME,SPEECHLESS,ETC. Jason = a badass artist for

Jackson and AJ. All pieces are beautiful, custom works of art. My
bf has a sleeve being done by Jorge Gwooki that is absolutely
stunning. Again a custom piece. All artists are very professional
and do everything they can to make you comfortable during the
tattoo process. Being a chick, this is important to me ;) . I
have been a customer of TBA for 5yrs and will never go to another
shop. TBA has impeccable artists that can satisfy any craving of
art you may desire to put on your body.
The shop is awesome with a friendly and very helpful staff.
The shop is super clean!!! Again another important factor when
choosing a tattoo parlor.

I found this company while at a tattoo
convention in San Antonio. I couldn’t have been more happy with the
quality of work and professionalism each artist displayed. The
artists (as well as everyone else behind the booths) were friendly
and very welcoming, and the attention to detail they display in
their work proves they are true masters of their craft. I got a
tattoo from David
Grey while at the convention and I will gladly make the drive
from Baytown to continue adding to this piece. I highly recommend
this shop to anyone looking for quality and professionalism. When
it comes to getting a tattoo you get what you pay for and trust me

Dear Johnny,
I am writing you to give my highest praise to one of your artists: Russ
Bagwell.
I got my first tattoo from Russ several months ago, and I got another two
from him shortly thereafter. I had three tattoos prior to Russ's
work, but I had been reluctant to get any more because an "artist" really
messed up my third one.
Over the last five years I had thought a lot about a cover up, but like I
said, I was so displeased with this dude-from-Dallas's work that I did
not want any more permanent errors on my skin. Also, the tattoo was
on my inner forearm, and because I work in a business environment where
most people do not have visible tattoos, I was embarrassed if my sleeves
rolled up and the ink was exposed. However, I did a great deal of
research, and I was so impressed with your artists's portfolios and the
shop reviews that I decided to speak with someone, and Russ was one of
the guys working that night. I was interested in something on my
inner bicep that could complement the eventual cover up.
Russ sketched something from a bunch of my materials, and I was thrilled
with the finished piece. I decided before my next appointment that
I wanted something a little smaller for my cover up than I had originally
planned (because of the location on my forearm), but Russ explained why
that design would not work. Instead, he helped me find something
that would work well in that area. Russ also worked on a font that
I designed for a Hebrew word to go on my other forearm. Not only
did he clean up my drawing, he did awesome lines on the hardest letter of
the alphabet.
In short, I have three new tattoos that are all different-- in style,
color, and shading--and I love them all. It is clear that Russ
excels at his craft. In addition to his great work, I would like to
note how patient (I am a pain-in-the-ass-perfectionist), kind, and
thorough is Russ. Thank you for having such a fantastic artist at
your shop; I will be sure to send more business your way.
I meant to write to you earlier about my positive experiences, but I just
remembered now because I have an appointment with Russ tomorrow to
discuss another piece.

AMAZING SERVICE!
Im writing today to let you know how elated I am with the services I
received at your shop the other night. It was a pleasant surprise to
receive
birthday money from a friend as a gift, with instructions that it
strictly
be applied to getting the tattoo I'm always *talking about getting*, but
never do. I decided right then and there, "*Today is my birthday*! I have
the funds I need, the art I've been wanting. Now to find a shop..." I
have a
plethora of friends who are adorning with permanent ink in varies styles,
fashions and areas of their body. However a newcomer to the Houston area,
no
one I knew had a reference to give me so I could obtain my first tattoo!
To
the Google!!!
I found shops I had seen while partying on Westheimer, so I headed out. I
was gravely disappointed to find out a completely client-empty shop would
only take me by appointment [the next week, at that]. Some places didn’t
have anyone who "did color", or "that style of tattoo". They didn’t seem
like very well rounded shops to me or as if they wanted to assist someone
naïve of the business, and I lost confidence in my search, shop after
shop.
I decided to drive home, and I thought, "There has to be places out here
in
North Houston, right?" To the Google once more! I called a few places,
and
after rudely being told "I CANT HELP YOU OVER THE PHONE" by more than a
few
places, I did some leg work. Once again, I was met by disappointment. One
shop didn’t have any portfolios to show me of the artist, but "trust us,
he’s good". Another said they wanted to go home, make an appointment for
tomorrow. By now it was 10 pm, and I was about to give up, but I called
one
last place, and the person over the phone sounded confident if I dropped
by,
they'd give me a better idea of what I needed to know. Hope? Restored.
I arrive at your shop, and all the guys were friendly and way more
inviting
that any other shop Id walked into. They showed David my work, we
discussed
my available funds, and he showed me his portfolio. SOLD!
David was very polite, professional, respectful, and he seemed to take a
genuine interest in helping me get my birthday present accomplished. He
answered all my silly questions that I’m sure he gets asked a million
times,
and we had a great time while he did his thing. He even stayed late to
help
me get as much accomplished as possible because he knew it meant so much
to
me!
Now, let me tell you, as a graphic designer/photographer, I’m very picky
about crisp, sharp, evenly saturated lines. I am particular about even
color
saturation, and composition of art placement. David nailed all of the
above
without any nagging from me, which instilled all 100% of my trust in him.
He
surpassed my expectations, and became a new friend. He represented your
shop
in an esteemed light, and y'all will definitely have a recommendation in
me.
I have had SO many compliments on my piece and accolades to David on his
impressive craftsmanship. We didn’t get to finish all the color because I
had a family emergency, but I can’t WAIT until my current progress heals
so
I can hop back in that chair and finish what we started.
You're extremely lucky to have such an amazing staff, and an even more
impressive employee like David working for you, and representing Texas
Body
Art in a prestige manner.

WOW these guys aren't just tattooers THEY ARE ARTISTS...
I was looking to get a REAL piece of artwork... and I
searched online and found thr BEST in Texas... I wanted some
sick Biomech, and the guy working the counter was amazing.. he
took his time with me and listened to what I wanted and
suggested Jorge.. I made an appointment and thanks to JORGE,
who drew what I wanted straight on me with a marker then
tattooed it... It fits my body perfect and he didn't mind
taking the time to draw it right on me and worked with what I
wanted..
This shop is so beautiful and full of great original art on
the walls, not that stupid mass produced crap.. If you want a
REAL piece of art not just a "trendy" tattoo that anyone can
do, then you need to go here.... I will never go any where

We have been internet fans of the inkaholiks since like 3 years
ago and finally got to meet them last month and it was the pleasure
of my life.She is such a doll and the whole time we were there
Inkaholik was running around organizing cleasning and ordering
people to clean the place up.He knows how to run it.
These folks are first class and I love love love looking at
Mizuz Pictures....
WOW!!! it was simple and i was scared to get it but the artist was
very gentle to me and helped me get through it ,I forgot his name but
he had a beard and a hat.
TBA has a professional, friendly, casual atmosphere and
outstanding artists. I'm currently working with Jason Coquell at TBA
on my next tattoo. I've gotten over 30 hours of tattoo work from at
least 9 tattoo shops over the years (first in 1991) and am very
impressed with TX Body Art. We've also gotten our daughter's ear
piercings and jewelry from TBA.

i got the start of my sleeve done by RUSS BAGWELL. top notch guy! i told
him the things i liked,then he just drew it up! i could have never
imagined the things he came up with.
my tattoo is so nice,my wife(who hates tattoos) is going to get one by
RUSS. the shop is big and has flat screens everywhere. this guy made
things really easy. the price is well worth it and from the research i've
done the rate is about the same everywhere..unless you get tattooed in
one of those chop shops around Houston. BEWARE!!! TEXAS BODY ART IS THE

I took my family in and i t was so busy we figured
the people were waiting on something different since we passed a few
shops to see what Texas Body Art was about...
I have never seen a tattoo studio set up so organized
and friendly.
The customer service was top notch and we seen the
portfolio of Johnny Jackson and were amazed at first glance.
Sadly enough we wont be getting tattooed for 2 months
but I will be coming to this studio no doubt.
If you are looking for the best this is the place!
Heard about AJ through a co-worker and thought i'd give him a shot,
that was about 2 years ago, I've gotten several from him since.... and
will continue to patron him as long as i have tattoos i want to get....

I had my fourth tattoo done four days ago. This is the first
tattoo done by A.J at Texas Body Art. I gave A.J a picture of what I
somewhat wanted but I let him run with his own creativity as well. I
am sooo glad I did....my tattoo turned out better than I could of
ever expected. His light gentle touch and attention to detail was
amazing. The entire experience was awesome!!!! I went out the next
night after getting my tattoo and I had so many compliments on the
beautiful art created for my shoulder. My tattoo is healing nicely
and I cannot wait for my next one. I plan on making an appointment
with A.J very very soon!!! I cannot say enough great things about the
entire operation ran out of that establishment. The entire staff is

The Best Place in Houston!!! There are
no words to describe the work that David did on my arm. I simply
gave him ideas and he took them to the next level with his
drawings! I already had a couple small pieces on my arm and
decided to go ahead and do a whole sleeve. If you want any black
and gray work done, you need to see David. His black and gray work
and lettering are out of this world. It is not too often you find
someone who takes as much pride in their work as he does and it is
amazing! My whole experience at Texas Body Art was beyond great!
All the employees were the nicest people I have ever met! They
always made me feel comfortable and were very social with all
clients. The bottom line is TBA is the place to go to get inked! No

I came in about 3 weeks ago for my 2nd
tattoo… It had been about 11 years since I got my first tattoo and
I decided that the second time around I wanted to know I was going
to a quality place. I researched tattoo parlors online
searching for the best. I found multiple great reviews for Johnny
Jackson’s Texas Body Art, so I gave them a ring… Russell helped me
on the phone, and that evening when I came in Nate inked me up :D
The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
I came in with a pretty good idea of what I wanted, but not sure how
to pull it all together. Nate drew up a design directly on my foot
and I loved it. The great reviews I had read were absolutely correct.
These guys are awesome!!! Thanks again Nate… hope to see you again in
a couple months for some more ink :D

out of town up in the Hill country with 0 reception on my cell. Anyways
man about the tattoo i actually came in last Friday, i guess you were at

I heard of Texas Body Art from the
magazines and just had to go see for myself .
They treated me with care and designed my tattoo that same day and it
came out beautiful!
I had no idea it would come out so good.I will refer them to my

get a tattoo and I could not be more happy. The price was amazing
and the staff is friendly and they really care about your

I went here for my first tattoo ever and i have to say the work done
by my artist from this location was outstanding. I came into the
shop with a picture in hand, and the artist created something
unbelievable. The compliments i get from people regarding my tattoo
are unbelievable. I never thought i could go through with it, but
for the money its quite literally a masterpiece! I love my Phoenix.
I wish i could remember who did it, but man i should have tipped
him more than 40 bucks! Oh well! I recommend it 150%.‎

I have never been in a tattoo
parlor before, but this was probably one of the cleanist businesses I
have ever seen. The people were great in offering suggestions and
being helpful in what to get. The prices seem reasonable. The
instruments were sterile. The tattoo artist wear gloves, and the area
was just neat and orderly. They were very aware that this was my
first tattoo and explained to get something small, just incase I do
regret getting one, however, this was on of my better choices. They
give you directions in taking care of the tattoo. Loved it. If I
wanted another tatttoo, I would definitely go back there again.
